With my diploma as a general practitioner and tropical doctor, I started training to become a psychiatrist in 2006, after six years of development work. People and their unique story fascinate me enormously. The unique differences and connecting similarities between people is what keeps me passionate.

Working from a client centered perspective, I like to integrate various techniques and psychotherapy streams. If desired, I advise on medication and can prescribe it. My areas of special interest are adults with ADHD, high-functioning autism, depression, anxiety, (singular) psychotrauma and personality problems. Where appropriate, I work with online consultation and eHealth modules.

I offer (group) training in mindfulness (MBCT) and lifestyle psychiatry, which covers topics such as sleep, exercise, relaxation, nutrition and meaning.

For treatment with me you need a referral to the Specialist Mental Healthcare from your general practitioner.
At this time I have no room for new patients. Het is echter altijd mogelijk om via email contact met mij op te nemen en te vragen naar de laatste stand van zaken.

I work with contracts from health insurers. For 2026, I have contracts with all insurers except CZ.
I charge a no-show fee of €60 if you do not cancel an appointment in a timely manner (24 hours in advance).

Arrangements for absence and vacation: During my absence, including vacations and illness, you can contact Ms. Elles Bakker (psychiatrist). Evenings, nights, and weekends are available at the out-of-hours GP clinic.

The care location is Burchtplein 2, Heusden.
My working days are: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

You can register by sending an email. After receiving your message, I will contact you within approximately 7 days. I will then let you know if and when the screening and intake will take place.

An intake consists of approximately three sessions; after an introductory session, a second intake session follows, followed by a consultation session in which treatment agreements are made.

rates & fees

All psychotherapy and psychiatry offered are included in the basic insurance of the Health Insurance Act as Specialist GGZ. From 1 January 2022, the therapy will be billed on a monthly basis by means of healthcare services, the rates of which are determined each year by the National Healthcare Authority (Nza).

If your practitioner has a contract with your health insurer, the following applies: The treatment is fully reimbursed monthly in kind (directly by the health insurer to the practitioner). You only pay your own risk.

If your practitioner does NOT have a contract with your health insurer, the following applies: In this case, you will first pay the monthly bill yourself. Through restitution, depending on your policy, you will be reimbursed 60 to 100% by your insurer.

To be eligible for reimbursement, a referral from the general practitioner is necessary and there must be a diagnosis in accordance with DSM-5 that has been included in the insured package by the National Health Care Institute (ZIN). Your diagnosis will be determined in consultation with you during the intake.

If there is no diagnosis that falls under the insured care established by the ZIN (uninsured benefit, OZP) or if you prefer to pay for the therapy entirely yourself, the rate in 2026 is € 145 per 45-minute session. A referral is then not necessary.
